Keepers, help! The Overtakers are launching another real-world attack!

Node 1653 is the Las Vegas Power Authority’s automated switching center. The Overtakers are using this node to cross the wires of all the major casinos – linking every slot machine in the city to the central power grid. The next time anyone hits a million dollar jackpot the grid will overload, shutting down the electricity for the whole city. Can you imagine Las Vegas plunged into darkness? We’ve got to clear that node before it happens, and there’s no telling how long we have, hurry!

I’ve been able to study recordings from all the battles so far and here’s a quick tip you might find helpful:

On many tough nodes you will find little “mini-bases” that spawn overtakers, I call these things tunnels. The best strategy is often to rush in and take these tunnels out first, before they overwhelm you with overtakers.

Good work Keepers! You cleared the node in time and foiled the Overtakers’ plan. Let’s hope they won’t try something like this again.

Keepers, listen up! This is serious. The Overtakers are using the net to reach out into the real world.

Node 0451 is a high-security database at the Long Marine Laboratory in Santa Cruz, California. In 93 hours, scientists there are launching an experiment that involves manipulating tidal forces to generate clean energy. The Overtakers are planning to flip the polarity on the equipment, inverting the system and destroying all tidal activity on this part of the coast. The results would be disastrous – no more surfing in Santa Cruz for the next 100 years.

To stop them, we must clear this node before 4:00 PM EST on April 11th. There’s no time to waste!

I almost can’t believe it, but it appears that the worst has happened. At precisely 5:05am this morning Maleficent and the Overtakers destroyed the Virtual Maintenance Network firewalls and have escaped into the internet! They have spread exponentially, like a conscious computer virus, infecting the virtual spine of the Internet. Communications between vital network hubs have dropped significantly and nearly all of the data that is being transmitted is severely corrupted.

We must fight back. I’ve created a powerful new tool that will allow you to enter the network and engage the Overtakers. Every time you defeat them at a network node the node will become slightly less infected. If we work together we should be able to completely clear out each node, pushing our front lines forward. With hard work and a little luck we may even be able to drive them out of the network entirely.

There’s something else going on: since this morning I’ve been picking up hints of mysterious bits of data floating around out in the network. As you progress through the network I may be able to recover these bits and recompile data files, secret info, or videos that will help us figure out what’s going on. Check back here often to stay up to date on the latest findings.

Please gather as many Kingdom Keepers as you can. It will take all of us to defeat this menace and regain control of the internet. There simply isn’t another way.
